“We need to consider cyber training an investment and not a cost,” explains Marco Gabriele Proietti, President Cyber Security Italy Foundation. “In the first half of 2023, Italy recorded a 40% increase in cyber attacks, four times more than in the world. The sectors most at risk are the economic-financial and insurance sectors. Since 2018, while globally incidents have increased by more than 60%, in our country the overall growth has reached 300%. Contextually, it is estimated that globally there is a lack of 3-4 million professionals in the field of cybersecurity, 100 thousand in Italy alone”. The Cyber Security Italy Foundation organises dissemination and orientation activities in high schools throughout Italy with the postal police and ACN (Presidency of the Council). “We spread the word cybersecurity among the young people we involve in training projects in schools. We started with schools in Rome, to be followed by Naples, Messina, Turin, Milan, and Bologna. In January, the first master’s degree in Management and Cybersecurity will also start, with the eCampus University aimed at companies and organisations, but also at young recent graduates’.
